The Executive Chairman of Isolo LCDA, Olasoju Adebayo has called for further domestication of enlightenment by National Orientation Agency (NOA) at the grassroots in the agency's quest to foster national unity and development.

Olasoju made this call at the enlightenment program organised by the agency on the council secretariat on Wednesday. The event was held at the council’s multipurpose hall attracting  attendance from across all stakeholders that formed the council area such as the community development committee (CDC), religious organizations, Market men and women, artisans, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) among others.

In his welcome address, Olasoju recalled the impactful role the agency played in shaping the upbringing of children in the 80s and 90s by instilling patriotism and morals in them via its numerous enlightening programs and activities.

He hailed the NOA officials for the enlightenment program which was aimed at familiarizing the people with FG’s Renewed Hope programs and other policies noting that such efforts must be sustained and deep-rooted in the grassroots for optimal results.

“This is a laudable program and I do not doubt that it will go a long way to complement our routine enlightenment program for our people to get them familiarize with what Federal government is doing to make life more meaningful. Our people are patriotic and they believe in the Renewed Hope agenda of Mr. President that was why the recent protest failed woefully in Isolo LCDA. We will intensify our efforts in keeping government closer to our people and spreading the dividends of democracy evenly to make life more meaningful for our people while we expect that on your part as a policy advocacy agency; you’ll sustain your efforts and make it deep-rooted at the grassroots,” Olasoju said.

The program also saw the likes of Dr. Mustafa Adedeji - State Director of the agency, as well as the guest speaker, Alhaji Mojeeb Kehinde delivered keynote speeches that highlighted some of the federal government's programs vis-a-vis the expected embrace by Nigerians.

Also, the Regent of Isolo Kingdom, High Chief Wasiu Alani Arowo-Oye (JP), Isolo CDC chairman, Hon. Olusegun Olatunde among others took turns to reassure the agency of their commitment to taking the messages to the nooks and crannies of the communities.

Other dignitaries included the leader of the legislative arm, Hon. Akeem Adeyemi ably represented the Deputy Leader, Hon. Kanayo Osondu who led other councilors to the event among others.

In her terse address, the Community Orientation and Mobilisation Officer, Alhaja Khafilat Olisa thumbed up the council boss for his support towards the success of the well-attended event.

Meanwhile, in her brief remarks, the Deputy Iyaloja General, Isolo LCDA, Alhaja Kadijat Kazeem, called for a minute silence in honor of the late gospel musician, Aduke Gold.
