Isolo, Lagos
Mon. 2nd Sept. '24
Staff of Isolo local council development area today turned out en masse for the monthly staff forum meeting. The council's multi-purpose hall was filled to the brim with employees drawn from, not only the council headquarters, but the respective area offices and other duty posts apparently to welcome the new council manager, Mrs. Mojisola Folaremi Ogabi.
In his address, council boss, Olasoju Adebayo thanked the gathering of staff for being the engine that has been driving the council. He urged them to take their health serious by undergoing routine tests and seeking medical attention whenever the need to do so arises.
Updating the present employees, Olasoju reeled out ongoing projects assuring them of completion in due course. Among such undertakings of the council were Finance block, gate house/rebranding of the council premises and upgrading of Alagbeji PHC, which upon completion, will also serve as staff clinic.
Various categories of cash prize award such as best departmental staff award, diligence & dedication award etc were discussed apart from the cash gift to ten housekeepers who mounted the floor of the day's meeting on his request. Olasoju went on to announce to the gathering that plans have been concluded to hold an educational programme "welcome back to school" before the month ends as he prayed that the new council manager's tenure bring good tidings for all and sundry.
In her own words, council manager, Mrs. Mojisola Ogabi charged the staff to be united and eschew bitterness among themselves if the overall good of the council and individuals manning it must be achieved.
The day's meeting had curtains drawn on it ceremoniously as all August-born among the staff joined dignitaries on the high table to perform the cake-cutting.
